This is the first devblog I’m releasing. I mainly want to document that tonight I’m done with the “rough draft” of the website. There’s still a long way to go before I feel like the first stage of the website is complete. Please comment here (or contact me on Twitter @erabrand) with any feedback you have or bugs you find.
- I have an idea for how I’d like to integrate the logo into the design, but I haven’t quite been able to manage it yet. I’ll keep working on it.
- Fill out the Who We Are page and make it public again.
- I need to get biographies for the people highlighted on the Who We Are page.
- This might also lead to creating subpages for a few of the biography sections.
- Copy the list of autchat participants into either the Who We Are page or its own sub-page.
- Completed 12/06/2015
I need to embed the storifies into blog posts. There are a lot of them, so this will take me a while. - Completed 12/07/2015
I need to add images into the How-To for the Twitter chat - Need to create the other two how-to guides.
- Completed 12/07/2015
I need to tighten up the copy, especially on the About and Twitter pages. - Implement SEO and Google Analytics.
- Create a styleguide and how-tos for people producing content for the website, specifically for the topic and storify blog posts and editing the main page.
- Fix the long descriptions for the images in the IRC and Twitter how-to guides. Considering asking others to help w/this.
- Implement the site image/favicon.
- Completed 11/27/2015
Change the background on the blog category pages (Topics and Storifys). - Completed 12/06/2015
Try to figure out why line breaks don’t show up on the Topics Category page. (They do show up on individual pages.) - Figuring this out is leading to more work. Still deciding on a solution.
- Completed 12/13/2015
Add information about the accessibility plug-in to the FAQ. - Find a way to automate upcoming chat topics to auto-populate the home page.
- Add a glossary to the FAQ, esp for terms like “neurodiversity” and “neurodivergent” and “self-diagnosed”.
